A person called "Ella Garcia" called from 247globalnews.com asking financial questions for a survey. Had gotten my work number of the company website. Claimed to conduct a survey with academics on how they invest during troublesome times (such as now). Asked if I prefer to invest offshore or locally, low risk or high risk, how I invest, and how much I usually invest per year. Confirmed my name, occupation, and asked if I had other numbers. He thanked me for my participation and wished me a good day. I do not see anything harmful in the call. Did not ask me to invest in anything (maybe due to my answers), did not ask for address, credit card information or similar. Reading the comments below can make you worried, but I do not think they can do much with just a name and a phone number (both easily accessible at the university website), and my financing preferences. Maybe it was a survey. Or a failed phishing attempt? (live person)

The indian guy introduced himself as the worker for company 24/7. He told me that he is doing a survey, so he asked all sorts of questions about my finances, my job etc. Ofcourse i gave him not real data. I was surprised that he knows my real name, and when i asked how he got my number, he told me that from "yellow pages". Wtf. Be careful guys (live person)

Person had incomplete information, english wasn't first language. Tried to elicit information about who/what i was doing in the company. They were unable to advise the reason for the call in a manner that was coherent or credible. Finished the call by stating I was "a piece of shit". (live person)
