First time I meet him in dating site in Tantan , when we have conversations he said that we continue our conversation in sweetalk, and he said he will make me an sweettalk account and he get my phone number, I give my phone number then he said , someone send a code to you then send it to me. .. but when I saw the number that send a message is this number +447873... I think he lie cos he said he live in Hong Kong, that's why I didn't give him the code number that send in my messages. I think he is a scammer, then he block me or cut our conversation after I told him that I never give him the code. (robocall / recorded message)

To all the people saying "I didn't request a code" - yes, that's the problem. If you didn't request a code, it means that someone has your password and has tried to access your account. You should change your password immediately, and if you use the same password elsewhere, change it there too. Hackers will learn one of your passwords on one platform and then try the same email/password combination elsewhere once they find one combination that works. Scammers send texts that contain links to trick you into clicking on something. The texts I've gotten don't contain links, therefore there is no trick or scam. (robocall / recorded message)

It was a live SMS from above number. I sent my English credit card number to a hotel via booking com and all reports back were OK. This morning got an SMS saying in German (where I live) that the card did not have enough money. With a very strange long link for me to update my data. It is the most devious scam I have received ever. Beware everyone out there. They are becoming so tricky and underhand. (live person)

Verification code sent to my mobile phone in order to log in to yahoo email account (due to unusual activity apparently – it's the second time in as many weeks). From what I have been able to find out, this number is used by quite a few services to send verification codes, when requested. I wish the legit services who use this number used their own company/business number instead. Why does Yahoo use the same 44-7873-077777 number as the health services in Ireland to confirm vaccination appointment, for instance, baffles me. Anyway, it's a legit message if you requested to be sent an SMS, and a phishing/scam when you receive a message from this number without having requested it. (robocall / recorded message)
